Hymenochaetaceae is the family, the order is hymenochaetales, the class is agaricomycetes-mushroom forming fungi and the phylum is basidiomycota. Hymenochaetaceae is a large and widespread family of parasitic wood-growing fungi with aroound 500 species. They are commonly found on trees as brown fungi and cause several trees diseases, including heart rot and white rot.
